OAK RIDGE RURAL SCHOOL TO HOLD REUNION

BLOOMFIELD -- Former students, directors and cooks of the Oak Ridge Rural School will gather for a reunion and potluck dinner at 12:30 p.m. June 11 at the school site. The one-room schoolhouse is now Oak Ridge General Baptist Church, situated nine miles north of Bloomfield.

Oak Ridge Rural School, which consolidated with Bell City Public Schools in the 1950s, housed grades one-eight. Some students finished their educations at high schools in nearby towns.

S.E. Lewis, who attended Oak Ridge Rural School and graduated from Bloomfield High School, will be the featured speaker.
