OAK RIDGE -- Nole Curry of Oak Ridge has been accepted to attend the Air Force Academy in Academy, Colo.
Curry is a 1993 graduate of Oak Ridge High School. He is also a 1994 graduate of the Air Force Preparatory School, where he played baseball for the prep school.
Curry was an alternate to the academy last year and decided to attend the preparatory school in hopes of receiving a nomination and being accepted this year. He hopes to become a pilot.
The educational value of the four-year program at the Air Force Academy is valued at $150,000. He reports for six weeks of basic training on June 30 and will enter the academy follow training.
Curry is the son of Gail and Arlene Curry of Oak Ridge.
