The Oak Ridge R-VI School District was selected as a $10,000 winner in the Monsanto Fund's America's Farmers Grow Rural Education grant contest. Area farmers were encouraged to nominate their public school district to apply for the grant to enhance math and science education. America's Farmers Grow Rural Education is part of a four-part initiative, which highlights the important contributions farmers make to society. Representatives from Monsanto will present a ceremonial check to Oak Ridge faculty during the Mississippi Valley Conference Volleyball Tournament, Oct. 11, at the high school.
