A three-part program aimed at helping people control their weight and reduce their risk of heart disease will be held at St. Francis Medical Center in April.

The program, titled "Don't Eat Your Heart Out!" will begin April 7 in the St. Francis Health & Education Center. The second and third parts of the program will be held April 14 and 21. Each of the two-hour programs begins at 7 p.m.

St. Francis cardiac rehabilitation nurse Linda Lawrence said the program is designed to help people reduce their fat intake to help them lose weight, analyze the fat content on food labels, choose heart-healthy foods when eating out, interpret their own cholesterol test numbers, make tasty heart-healthy recipes and replace high fat foods with low fat choices.
