The National Honor Society at Notre Dame High School is having a blood drive Thursday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the multi-purpose room at the school.
All donors will receive a complimentary T-shirt.
Donations are especially needed during the summer because the number of donations received by the American Red Cross drops off as the temperature rises. Even though the need for blood for area hospital patients remains high , most blood drives do not collect as many donations because of employee vacations.
To be eligible to give blood, you must weigh at least 110 pounds and be at least 17 years old.
