NOTRE DAME STUDENTS EARN LEADERSHIP AWARDS

Julie Schwartz and Chris Bucher have been awarded the national "I Dare You" leadership award in recognition of personal integrity, balanced living and potential for leadership.

Schwartz is the daughter of Yvonne and Joe Schwartz Jr. of Chaffee. Bucher is the son of Margie and Frank Bucher of Kelso. Both are juniors at Notre Dame High School.

In addition to a certificate of recognition, Schwartz and Bucher receive a copy of the book "I Dare You," by William Danforth, who offered the first award in 1941. They also receive a scholarship opportunity to attend the American Youth Foundation's National Leadership Conference at Camp Miniwanca in Michigan or Camp Merrowvista in New Hampshire.
