Two 1992 graduates of Notre Dame High School have been awarded scholarships for the 1992-93 academic year at Murray State University.
Jennifer Peters, daughter of Louis and Marilyn Peters of Cape Girardeau, was awarded a $500 Achievement Award. She plans to major in biology and pre-dentistry and pursue a career as a dentist.
While in high school she was a member of Who's Who Among American High School Students, Latin Club, Spanish Club, Pep Club, Students Against Driving Drunk, Future Business Leaders of America, Liturgy Committee, Student Council, newspaper and yearbook staff, a cheerleader and delegate to the Missouri Freedom Forum.
Robin Thompson, daughter of Joseph and Sharon Thompson of Cape Girardeau, was awarded a $1,000 Achievement Award. She plans to major in education or psychology and pursue a career as an elementary teacher or psychologist. While in high school she was a member of the Anthony Rubich chapter of National Honor Society, Student Council, Pep Club, Latin Club, Spanish Club and varsity basketball team.
