Judy Schott has been named development director of the Notre Dame Education Fund Foundation.
The appointment was announced by John Layton, president of the foundation.
Schott will manage the day-to-day activities of the foundation and will coordinate the fund-raising activities of a variety of school organizations. Her employment is full-time.
Overseeing the annual Fund Drive, the Alumni Phonathon, the Notre Dame Sunday Drive in local parishes, individual solicitations for the foundation and researching corporate grants and gifts will be among Schott's responsibilities.
She said the foundation, along with tuition and parish support, is crucial to enabling schools such as Notre Dame to continue providing quality education.
"It is important for the community to have alternative secondary education, as this provides diversity," Schott said.
Schott replaces Felicia Blanton, who resigned to become the public relations director for the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Schott previously was employed as a program coordinator for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. She lives in Cape Girardeau with her husband, Harold.
