Nordenia will pay off its bond a year early, which will have an effect on Nell Holcomb School District.
With the end of a tax increment financing program this year, the taxes must go directly to the school district's coffers; state law dictates how that money must be used.
The company was paying more than $164,000 a year under the TIF. Superintendent Darryl Pannier said this is a crucial year for the school district because the state will decide how taxes are assessed the company in the future -- whether to deem the facility new or existing construction.
"I want everything we're entitled to by law," Pannier said.
