"We are pleased to co-sponsor this annual event with the Area Wide United Way in recognition of outstanding community volunteers," said Craig Felzien, area manager-community relations for Southwestern Bell Telephone. "It takes the kind of grassroots volunteerism that is alive and well in Cape Girardeau County and throughout Missouri to make our state a good place to live."

Criteria for judging will include performing a vital and difficult volunteer job, demonstrating a sustained commitment to volunteerism, having a significant impact on the community, and using creativity and initiative.

Southwestern Bell Telephone will accept award nominations until March 22. Send entries to Area Wide United Way, P.O. Box 562, Cape Girardeau, Mo. 63702-0562.

For more information or to request a nomination form, call the United Way at 334-9634.
