JACKSON - There were no surprises in Tuesday's Jackson R-2 Board of Education race for the two, three-year terms.
Incumbent Jack Knowlan Jr. and school board president Larry Koenig easily won re-election to terms on the board.
Koenig received the most votes, 1,737. Knowlan received 1,449, while J. Alan Crites received 913 votes.
It was a tighter race for the one, one-year, unexpired term of former school board member Nancy Schafer. Jeanette Bollinger defeated Ronald L. Obermann by a margin of 63 votes. Bollinger received 1,181 votes to Obermann's 1,118 votes.
