No one was injured in two crashes involving six vehicles on Interstate 55 in Cape Girardeau on Friday morning.
The crash happened at mile marker 92 near the Diversion Channel and shut down a northbound lane for a little more than an hour.
According to Cape Girardeau Police Department spokesman Darin Hickey, the first crash happened when a ladder fell off a truck and was struck by a van. A car behind the van hit the ladder, and the back of the van and was rear-ended by an Ameren Missouri truck. The truck carrying the ladder left the scene, Hickey said.
A second crash happened when a truck slowed to avoid the first crash and was rear-ended by another truck. No one was injured in either crash, Hickey said.
