Despite unseasonable cold overnight, the low temperature didn't quite hit the record low for the date in Cape Girardeau.
The low at the Cape Girardeau Regional Airport hit 22 degrees overnight, according to the National Weather Service's observations. The record low for March 21 is 20 degrees, set in 1986, according to weather service climate data. A record was set at Paducah, Ky., with 19 degrees.
Today's weather is expected to include plenty of sunshine and a high near 40 degrees before rain and snow move in overnight and into Friday.
