No suspects are in custody after a Cape Girardeau woman was seriously injured during an apparent drive-by shooting Monday.

At 2:46 p.m. Monday, the Cape Girardeau Police Department responded to 401 S. Hanover St., said Cape Girardeau police spokesman Sgt. Adam Glueck. The victim was sitting on the porch at the time of the shooting.

The shooting is being investigated by Cape Girardeau Police and the Cape Girardeau/Bollinger County Major Case Squad.

Tuesday morning Glueck said there are no new updates for the case, but the victim remained in the hospital with "serious injuries."

The woman was shot in the head during the drive-by, and shell casings were found near the scene.

Descriptions of the suspect's vehicle vary between a gold or maroon SUV. Scanner traffic at the time also indicated there possibly were three people in the vehicle.

There is no descripton of the suspect.
