Gov. Jay Nixon announced Monday a series of state-level appointments, all submitted to the Missouri Senate for confirmation, including putting a Kennett, Mo., man back on Southeast Missouri State University's Board of Regents. If confirmed, Doyle L. Privett, 57, a Republican from Kennett, joins the seven-member board responsible for appointing Southeast's president, employing faculty and staff, and making budgetary and policy decisions.

Privett, a certified public accountant, is Kennett National Bank's chief executive officer. He served on the Board of Regents from 1995 to 2003, and has been active in numerous civic, professional and economic development organizations. The governor appointed Privett for a term ending Jan. 1, 2015.

Joseph P. Bindbeutel to a 6-year term on the Public Service Commission, the state agency that regulates investor-owned utility companies.

Bindbeutel, 55, of Columbia, Mo., is deputy director and general counsel for the Missouri Department of Natural Resources. Also appointed: Susan McCray Armstrong, 50, a St. Louis-based civil engineer, to the Safe Drinking Water Commission, until Sept. 1, 2012; Phillip C. Dressel, 41, of Ladue, Mo., and president of Mount Pleasant Winery in Augusta, Mo., to the Missouri Wine and Grape Board, until Oct. 28, 2012; attorney Cathy Steele, 53, of St. Louis, president of the Jewish Family & Children's Service board of directors, to the Missouri Family Trust board of trustees, until Oct. 25, 2011. Attorney John J. Temporiti, 60, a democrat, of St. Louis, to the Missouri Development Finance Board, until Sept. 14, 2012; Dr. Stephen F. Huss, 63, of Hillsboro, Mo., to the Children's Trust Fund Board, until Sept. 15, 2010. Since 1973, Huss has been president and CEO of Community Treatment Inc.

Missouri State Highway Patrol Capt. Timothy P. McGrail, 51, of Jefferson City. Mo., and Florence T. Pullen, 68, of Creve Coeur, Mo., to the Child Abuse and Neglect Review Board. Pullen will serve until April 29.

McGrail, a former U.S. Marine, also represents Missouri on the National Crime Prevention and Privacy Compact Council. His review board term ends April 17, 2012.
