Marine Lance Cpl. Stephen C. Dunning, son of Louis Hodgkiss of Scott City, recently graduated from Marine Security Guard School.

During the course at Marine Corps Combat Development Command at Quantico, Va., students are taught the organization and functioning of the State Department's foreign service, protection of classified material, interior guard duty, protocol and identification of bombs and incendiary devices.

The 1992 graduate of Jackson High School joined the Marine Corps in April 1993.

Rodney W. Amos

Rodney W. Amos, son of Steven and Cheryl Amos of 3605 Kidron Dr. in Jackson recently enlisted in the U.S. Navy.

Amos, a 1993 graduate at Jackson High School departs for basic training in Great Lakes, Ill. Following his basic training, he will begin 78 weeks of training in the Navy's Nuclear Power Program. In addition to his naval training programs, he has also been guaranteed the Navy College Fund which is worth $30,000.

Derek R. Mudge

Derek R. Mudge of Jackson has joined the U.S. Army. Private Mudge has received the Army's written guarantee that he will receive training in the job speciality of his choice, multi-channel transmission systems operator.

Pvt. Mudge, who is a 1995 graduate of Jackson High School, will take basic training at Fort Jackson, S.C., and advanced individual training at Fort Gordon, Ga., reporting for duty Sept. 6.

He is the son of Gerald and Judith Mudge of Jackson.
