Daniel W. Deck
Air Force Airman Daniel W. Deck has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas.
During the six weeks of training, the airman studied the Air Force mission, organization and customs and received special training in human relations.
In addition, airmen who complete basic training earn credits toward an associate degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
Deck is the son of James B. and Linda C. Rapp of Jackson. He is a 1993 graduate of Jackson Senior High School.
Mary J. Branch
Navy Petty Officer 1st Class Mary J. Branch, daughter of Sandra L. Mungle of Oak Ridge, recently received the Navy-Marine Corps Achievement Medal while serving with the Naval Air Reserve Command, Naval Air Station Whidbey Island, Wash.
Branch was awarded the medal for her outstanding performance as morale, welfare and recreation director. Displaying exceptional planning and organizational abilities, Branch organized a wide variety of activities to benefit and improve the quality of life for her fellow Sailors. Branch also provided expert career counseling for more than 700 reserve personnel.
With a Navy-Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Branch joins a select group of men and women who have demonstrated their outstanding ability to excel in serving on the Navy-Marine Corps team. Whether assigned to ships, squadrons or shore commands around the world, men and women like Branch are making a difference as they work to improve their knowledge and skill as part of the most highly technical naval force in history.
Branch also recently enlisted in four more years of active duty in the U.S. Navy.
The 1983 graduate of Meadow Heights High School in Sedgewickville, joined the Navy in February 1985.
Sarah J. Titsworth
Air Force Staff Sgt. Sarah J. Titsworth has arrived for duty at Kleine Brogel Air Base, Belgium. Titsworth, a base communications center journeyman, is the daughter of Harold B. and Helen E. Beussink of Marble Hill. She is a 1987 graduate of Leopold High School.
Gretta A. Miget
Army Pvt. Gretta A. Miget has graduated from the air traffic control (ATC) operator course at Fort Rucker, Daleville, Ala.
Graduates were taught aircraft recognition, interpretation of weather reports, instrumental flight rules and manual approach control radio and telephone procedures. Also included was the Federal Aviation Administration control tower operation course.
Miget is the daughter of Charlotte and Ken Miget of Perryville. The private is a 1995 graduate of Perryville High School.
Travis Hartman
Army 2nd Lt. Travis A. Hartman has graduated from signal officer basic course at Fort Gordon, Augusta, Ga.
Students received instruction in military leadership and tactics, tactical and radio communications systems and communications center operations.
Hartman is the son of Dena Sue Reed of California.
His wife, Jayne Ellen, is the daughter of B. Gene and Joyce Ann King of Jackson.
