Brian J. Schumer
Brian J. Schumer of Perryville has joined the U.S. Army. Pvt. Schumer has received the Army's written guarantee that he will receive training in the job specialty of his choice, Fire Support Specialist.
Pvt. Schumer, who will graduate from Perryville High School in June, will take basic and advanced individual training at Fort Sill, Okla., reporting for duty Sept. 11.
He is the son of Lawrence Schumer and Connie Compte, both from Perryville.
Jeffrey L. Cook
Army National Guard Pvt. Jeffrey L. Cook has graduated from the combat engineer course at Fort Leonard Wood. In addition to basic combat training, students were trained in techniques of road and bridge building, camouflage and demolition, river crossing operations, and vehicle operations.
Cook is the son of Donald E. and Cheryl M. Cook of Jackson and is a 1994 graduate of Jackson High School.
