An organizational meeting for Southeast Missouri State's 11th New York Theater Tour will take place in the Grauel Building Tuesday, Sept. 20, at 6 p.m.
The meeting will be held in Room 316. Dennis C. Seyer, professor of speech communication and theatre at Southeast Missouri State, will provide information at the meeting. Seyer has experienced all previous 10 New York Theatre tours.
Anticipated cost of the tour is $803. Quad accomodations are at the Edison Hotel, which is in the heart of New York City. Baggage handling as well as hotel taxes are included. Transportation from the airport to the hotel and from the hotel back to the airport is included.
Among the items on the tour agenda are a theater seminar with a leading Broadway professional. "We'll try to get someone leading the seminar who has been in a Broadway play we are going to see," said Seyer.
There will be a guided tour of Madison Square Garden as well as a tour through the backstage area of Radio City Music Hall, the biggest indoor theater in the world.
There will be three theater performances, two musicals and a Broadway play. The musicals are "Beauty and the Beast" and "Sunset Boulevard".
The tour is open to university students, faculty members and anyone in the community or outside the area.
For additional information call Seyer at 651-2490.
