This New Year's Eve has something for just about anyone in Cape Girardeau and Jackson who wants to welcome 2004.
Some local businesses and organizations are offering celebrants a chance to dance, eat and even solve a mystery.
As usual, many downtown Cape Girardeau venues are featuring live bands, including:

Rude Dog Pub -- Funky Donkey Cheese
Broussard's -- Bob Camp and Friends, Sikes N Hooker and Catatonic
River City Yacht Club -- Mid-Life Crisis
Phat Cat -- King Kenny Mo
Several Christian groups are also hosting parties:
Triple 777 Dance Club is hosting a "New Year's Eve Bash" at the Space Walk Building on Highway 177, about a mile north of Cape Girardeau. Performers include the Thieret Twins, Iona Baptist and Fo Christ.
The Christian Wrestling Federation is throwing a "New Year's Eve Bash" at Christian Faith Fellowship between Cape Girardeau and Gordonville at 4350 Route K. Doors open at 7 p.m.
CrossRoads Fellowship is holding a celebration beginning at 6 p.m. at the Stables, at Missouri and Main in Jackson.

Celebrity Celebrations Dinner Theatre -- Take part in a murder mystery and enjoy a fine dinner at Delmonico's Restaurant in Jackson at 7 p.m. For reservations, call 243-9299 or 243-1450.
New Year's Eve murder mystery -- Solve the crime at the 8:30 p.m. event at the St. Louis Iron Mountain Railway in Jackson.
Visions of Pride -- The Cape Girardeau lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community center will host a New Year's Eve party at 9 p.m. at 30 N. Pacific.
Parents Without Partners Singles New Year's Eve Dance -- Glide around the American Legion Hall's dance floor in Jackson from 8 p.m. to midnight.
New Year's Eve Dance -- Eat, dance and be merry at Drury Lodge beginning at 8 p.m. Guests can enjoy music by a live DJ and the hot hors d'oeuvre buffet and cash bar.
For wannabe pop stars, karaoke will be at the Camp Family Restaurant, Show-Me's and Brother's Lounge.
