CARBONDALE, Ill. -- A satellite office of the Illinois World Trade Center will open in the Southern Illinois Small Business Incubator at Southern Illinois University here.
Rhonda J. Vinson, executive director of the university's Office of Economic and Regional Development, and Robert Newtson, president and general manager of the Chicago-based trade center, make the joint announcement recently.
The satellite will give businesses and manufacturing firms a nearby source of import and export advice.
The World Trade Center has nine other satellite office, five of them in the greater Chicago area. Other locations are at Rockford, Peoria, Springfield and Edwardsville.
The center is expected to open here within a month.
