Paul Kitchen, principal of Delta High School, has been appointed district coordinator of the Tech Prep occupational education program.
The program is being developed through the Cape Girardeau Area Vocational-Technical School and Mineral Area College as a model for vocational education in the state. It encourages high school students who do not plan to attend college to plan a curriculum to achieve a career objective.
Serving on the Cape Girardeau enactment committee are Fred Graham, Scott City High School principal; Ed McGrew, Chaffee High School counselor; Don Pugh, Jackson High School counselor; Robert Turner, Leopold public schools superintendent; Amy Winchester, Advance High School counselor; and Jerry Witvoet, Cape Girardeau High School counselor.
