MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Amid concern about upcoming water bill increases and passing bond issues for sewer improvements, the Marble Hill Board of Aldermen received some good news Monday night. Family Dollar Store plans to build a store in Marble Hill, on three acres next to Jay's Barbecue. The Banner Press confirmed that the company does plan to come to Marble Hill. Bryn Winburn, public relations manager for the store, said that construction is expected to begin in February. According to city hall, the company will elevate the land to meet EPA guidelines for keeping the new 7,000-square-foot building above flood level. The store is estimated to open in early August 2013, and is expected to provide eight to 10 jobs.
