NEW MOBILE RESTAURANT OFFERS FANCY FOOD TO GO

When Norverta Velez talks about food to go, he's really talking about a very fancy dinner to go.

Velez is owner of the Healthy 'n Delicious Restaurant, an on-wheels operation on Town Plaza Shopping Center's parking lot in the 2100 block of William.

"This is a home-cooking operation featuring a lot of low-fat, low-cholesterol foods," said Velez. "At this time all of our food is prepared to go."

The restaurant is in a large step-van truck equipped with stove, grill, broiler and steamer.

"We offer a full menu salads, broiled breast of chicken over rice, roast beef, ham, lasagna, stir-fry, cold-cuts, and desserts," said Velez, who has about 10 years experience in operating a restaurant.

"I have worked in all phases of restaurant operation," he said. "I've been a waiter, a chef and restaurant manager."

Hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays.

"We hope to offer outside dining this spring," said Velez. "Meanwhile, we're taking orders to go."
