The Southeast Missouri Regional Planning and Economic Development Commission has opened a job training office at Cape Girardeau.
The new office, at 1452 N. Kingshighway, held its grand opening Friday.
The office here was opened to provide service to clients in Cape Girardeau and Scott counties, said Thomas G. Tucker, executive director of the economic development commission, headquartered at Perryville. "
The job training programs operated by the commission are being offered through the Southeast Missouri Private Industry Council, headquartered in Cape Girardeau.
Representatives of the Missouri Division of Family Services Futures Program will also be located in the new job training office.
The Missouri Division of Employment Security and the Cape Girardeau Vocational-Technical Schools will also send representatives to the office on a regular basis.
The Commission is also locating job training offices in New Madrid and St. Francois counties.
