NEW HONOR SOCIETY FOR BUSINESS PROGRAM AT SOUTHEAST UNIVERSITY

Twenty-six Southeast Missouri State students have become charter members of Beta Gamma Sigma honor society for the AACSB accredited business program at the university.

Business programs accredited by AACSB -- the International Association for Management Education -- are eligible to have chapters of Beta Gamma Sigma. Of more than 1,400 schools offering business and management degrees, slightly more than 300 are eligible.

Southeast Missouri is chapter member 316.

Dr. Quiester Craig, national secretary-treasurer of Beta Gamma Sigma, installed the chapter at Southeast.

Craig is dean of the school of business and economics at North Carolina A&T University and a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma board of governors and a former AACSB president.

Charter members are marketing students Thomas Andersson, Rebecca Kilgore and Jeanne Ball; management students Sara Ashworth, Steven McAnelly, Jill Meyer, James Schwentker and John Wondel; accounting students Ronald Bull, Donald Clayton, Brenda Hillis, Michelle Landewee, Cheryl Morris, Jessica Nall, Michael O'Shea, Howard Poston, Lisa Predeau, John Russo, Paula Watson, Cassandra Wilson and Jessica Young; economics student Bart Vandeven; finance students Kevin Meyer, Kalin Metodiev, Elena Novikova; and office systems management student Reta White.
