Robert M. Zellers, formerly assistant director of student financial aid at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, has been named director of financial aid services at Southeast Missouri State University.
He assumed his duties Jan. 17.
"He is very customer oriented and will help in bringing about more direct contact with students and their parents in explaining financial aid," said Fred Snider, assistant vice president for enrollment development.
Zellers said his primary objective is "making our services as available to students as possible."
At Southeast, Zellers will be responsible for the administration of more than $18 million in federal, state and institutional financial aid programs and will participate in the design and development of policies that support the university's enrollment management goals.
