Evelyn G. LeGrand of Cape Girardeau has been named to head Chafin and Associates' Healthcare Education and Training Division.
W. Fred Chafin, executive director of the 7-year-old national health-care firm, announced LeGrand's appointment.
The purpose of Chafin's new division is to provide educational and physician-bonding programs to hospitals nationwide.
LeGrand said a minimum of 100 seminars will be booked during 1992, based on the division's nationwide marketing program.
"We have already booked 10 seminars during January and February," said LeGrand. "These seminars will feature the recent Medicare changes."
In addition to providing seminars and workshops for physicians and their staffs, the division will assist hospitals in implementing physician bonding through development of ancillary services such as office managers' pool buying, developing and implementing sound personnel policies, and personnel selection and evaluation.
LeGrand's background includes business management, marketing, public relations and personnel-related activities. She most recently held an executive position in a local multibusiness company.
LeGrand also worked in city government for seven years in various positions, including serving as city clerk. She serves as chairman of the education committee of the Cape Girardeau Chamber of Commerce and vice president of operations on the Riverfest Association Board of Directors.
