Shambo, a graduate of Stage One The Hair School, has more than seven years of experience in cosmetology, including cutting, styling and curling hair, and giving permanents.
Shambo, of Scott City, has completed advanced beauty courses at St. Louis and Chicago.

Raymond Buhs has been appointed to the Board of Directors of First Exchange Bank.
Bill Stanfield, president and chief executive officer of First Exchange Bank of Cape Girardeau, announced Buhs' appointment.
Buhs is a veteran in the materials industry. He was associated with Federal Materials Co., as its vice president until 1972, when it was acquired by Southeast Missouri Stone. He currently serves as vice president and general manager of Missouri Stone.
Buhs has served in a variety of national, state and local organizations. They include serving on the Board of Directors of the Missouri Limestone Producers Association of Jefferson City and as its past president; as a commissioner of the Southeast Missouri Regional Port Authority; and as a past president and board member of the Greater Cape Girardeau Development Corp.
He currently is a member of the Cape Girardeau Planning and Zoning Commission and the Southeast Missouri State University Boosters Club and Copper Dome Society.
Buhs and his wife, Evelyn, reside in Cape Girardeau.

Jerry H. Whitener, former general sales manager of Fox 23 KOKI-TV in Tulsa, Okla., has been named vice president and general manager of Fox 16 KLRT-TV in Little Rock, Ark.
Whitener, formerly of Cape Girardeau, has a 32-year career in broadcasting and advertising. He had worked at KOKI since 1989. His experience also includes a position in Knoxville, Tenn., as general sales manager of WTVK-TV for 14 years.
