NEW EMPLOYEES

Steve Turner is new manager of Waldenbooks in West Park Mall.

Turner has been with Waldenbooks for five years. He has managed stores at St. Louis, Fairview and Marion, Ill.

"I'm coming to Cape Girardeau from the Marion store," said Turner.

Turner, a native of the St. Louis area, attended school at Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville.

Turner replaces Julie Hoffmeister, who will be moving to a Waldenbooks operation in Manhattan, Kan.

Dan Klaproth, formerly of Jackson, has joined S.H. Smith and Company at Poplar Bluff as a project engineer.

Klaproth previously was associated with Hudwalker and Associates Inc. of Farmington. He is a registered professional civil engineer and is a member of the Professional Engineers. He serves as secretary-treasurer of the Southeast Chapter of the Missouri Society of Professional Engineers.

He is a graduate of the University of Missouri-Rolla with a bachlor of science degree in civil engineering. He graduated from Jackson High School and attended Southeast Missouri State University.

S.H. Smith also has a facility at Cape Girardeau.
