The new Mills Spring Chip Co. wood processing plant is expected to open full operations later this month. Thompson, a wood procurement forester for Canal Wood Co. in Demopolis, Ala., for six years, was hired to manage the Mill Springs operation.

Thompson, a native of Alabama, is a graduate of Mississippi State University School of Forest Resources.
