NEW ALUMNI GROUP PLANS JUNE REUNION

A new alumni association for Washington Elementary School is planning a reunion for June 5-6.

Barbara Blanchard, a teacher at and alumni of Washington School, said the new association is not just for former students.

"This association is for anyone who has had any connection with the school former teachers, principals, parents of students, anyone who has some interest in the school."

A couple years ago, Washington School celebrated its 75 anniversary with a reunion. Blanchard said the new group is a spin-off from that gathering.

"People have a lot of memories from that school and there has been a lot of interest expressed in planning some events or maybe some projects," Blanchard said. "People apparently have formed some pretty strong ties to this school."

The upcoming reunion is the first such project, she said.
