NEUMEYER NAMED COUNTY DEMOCRATIC CHAIRMAN

State representative candidate Tom Neumeyer has been named chairman of the Cape Girardeau County Central Democratic Committee.

Neumeyer, a Cape Girardeau councilman and business owner, is running for the 158th state House seat.

Neumeyer takes over for Rick Althaus, who held the position for six years.

The other office holders remain the same: Vice-chairman Nelda Hinton, secretary Chris Edwards and treasurer Simon Ebenstein.

"The local party has been helping me greatly in the campaign for the representative seat," Neumeyer said.

"By accepting the chairmanship, I can give back to the party."
