Are you talented?
A national talent search for Christian musicians is coming to Cape Girardeau in May.
The talent search will be held May 22 in Bavarian Halle, with prizes up to $1,000 and studio time for recording.
Only the first 75 people who respond will be entered. From those 75 entries, the number will be narrowed to 10. The 10 finalists wil be asked to perform June 19 at a shoot-out event, which is part of a Homecoming Concert Series with the Gaither video artists.
National producers and talent scouts will attend the shoot-out, said area promoter Wade Cardwell.
"There is always a shortage of good, fresh talent," he said. Talent producers are looking for everything from groups to musicians or soloists.
"Sometimes talent is spotted among the non-winners and a good producer can take raw talent and polish it to a shine," said Christian music producer Gary Jones who will be at the shoot-out event.
First prize is $1,000 with second- and third-place winners receiving $500 and $300, respectively.
Entry fee is $100. To register, contact Wade Cardwell at 243-7116. Leave your name, address and phone number on the recording and information will be mailed to you.
The Gaither artists homecoming concert series is planned for June 19 at the Show Me Center.
