Michael Rust, manager of Rust & Martin Home Furnishings of Cape Girardeau, has been elected to the board of directors of the National Home Furnishings Association.

Rust was elected at the group's annual meeting in April during the International Home Furnishings Market in High Point, N.C., where NHFA is headquartered.

He is a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University and received a certificate in interior design from the New York School of Interior Design.

Rust is also on the executive board of the Interior Design Society. He is a member of the Cape Lions Club, Centenary Methodist Church, Cape Girardeau Chamber of Commerce and the Copper Dome Society.

Rust and his wife, Tennie, have three children, Ashley, Tanner and Bailey.

The NHFA is a 3,500-member trade organization representing 13,000 home furnishing stores in the U.S. and Canada.
