An exhibit based on the collection of Harry and Grada Naeter will open Sunday at Gallery 100.

An opening reception will be held from 2-4 p.m. Sunday.

The Naeters, former owners of the Southeast Missourian, collected the paintings during the years they sponsored the Missourian Art Shows.

The collection on exhibit, begun in 1947, consists of works by the show's guest artists.

The paintings include works by local and internationally-known artists. They include Marjorie Suedekum, S.P. Neal, Sigfried Rhinehart, James Goodwin Scott and Paul J. Penczner.

None of the works will be for sale.

The exhibit is part of the ArtsCape festival and was arranged by Judy Naeter, a member of the ArtsCape '93 Committee.

It will be on display through Oct. 19. Hours are 1-4 p.m. weekdays and 1-4 p.m. Oct. 16-17.
