Washington School music teacher Mary Collier Mims has been published for the second time in a national journal for members of Music Educators National Conference.
The February 1994 issue of Teaching Music includes her answer to the question "How do you keep students interested during class?" Mims describes her motivation techniques, classroom atmosphere and parental involvement.
Mims, a former instructor of music at Southeast Missouri State University, is in her 12th year of music education. From 1982-89, she served on the faculty at Troy State University in Troy, Ala. She was employed by Cape Girardeau public schools in 1991 as music teacher at May Greene Elementary.
An article entitled "Opera is Alive and Well" was featured in the Idea Bank session of the January 1993 issue of Music Educators Journal.
