The 1993 Muny Summer Season marks the 75th year the Municipal Theatre Association has been presenting musical entertainment in Forest Park.
The first three musicals of the season will be "The Sound of Music," "Fiddler on the Roof" and "Grease."
"The Sound of Music" is the first show which tells the story of Maria, a young novice who takes charge of seven unruly children. Through her music and sense of humor, Maria wins the hearts of the children, as well as their stern father.
The second show is "Fiddler on the Roof" which is an enduring saga of Tevya, the Jewish milkman and his tribulations in pre-war Russia.
"Grease" is an energetic tribute to the "fab fifties," a romantic musical about star-crossed steadies the girl-next-door Sandy Dumbrowski and greaser Danny Zuko.
There will also be four more productions at a later time. The season will run from mid-June through mid-August.
