Guest conductor Robert M. Gifford will direct and vocalist Charlene Peyton will be featured during the Municipal Band concert at 8 tonight in Capaha Park.

Gifford, a member of the department of music at Southeast Missouri State University, has served as director of the university's Golden Eagles Marching Band and has conducted bands in Norway, Great Britain, France, Switzerland, Austria, Germany and Canada. He is a former member of the Air Force Strategic Air Command Band and is past president of the Missouri Music Educators Association.

Peyton, music instructor with the Cape Girardeau public schools, is a frequent performer of gospel music in the area.

The concert also will highlight music by Jerome Kern and features a trumpet trio of Mark Fulgham, Keith Bales, and Kevin Hill. Marches and light concert selections will complete the program.
