MUNICIPAL BAND TO PLAY GERSHWIN NUMBERS IN CONCERT WEDNESDAY
The music of George Gershwin will be featured at the Cape Girardeau Municipal Band concert Wednesday. The concert, held at the Capaha Park Band Shell beginning at 8 p.m., is free. Special guest entertainment will be provided by the Jerry Ford combo featuring vocalist Pat Blackwell.
The celebrity guest director will be Cape Girardeau Police Chief Rick Hetzel. The regular director is Ronald Nall.
Musical selections by Gershwin will be "An American in Paris," "Porgy and Bess" and a medley of other tunes. There will also be marches and more.
