The Cape Girardeau Municipal Band will present its opening concert at 8 p.m. Wednesday under the Capaha Park Band Shell.
The concert originally was scheduled for Memorial Day but was canceled due to rain.
Charlene Peyton will be the special guest, singing and playing the piano during intermission. Mayor Al Spradling III will be guest conductor and Jay Landers master of ceremonies.
The band is conducted by Ronald Nall.
Wednesday's selections will include "Yesterday" by John Lennon and Paul McCartney, selections from "A Chorus Line," and "Strategic Air Command" by Clifton Williams.
Those planning to attend are encouraged to bring lawn chairs. The concert is free and will last about one hour.
