SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) -- Missouri State University reports record enrollment in the fall semester.
The Springfield school says 21,688 students are enrolled at the main campus and at the branch in West Plains, a 1.3 percent increase over last year. MSU ranks second among Missouri universities in the number of students, behind the University of Missouri.
The school also reports a record rise in the number of minority students, enrolling 1,377 minorities for a 6.3 percent increase over last year.
The freshman class at MSU's main campus recorded a best-ever 24.2 ACT score.
