A dozen women will compete Saturday for the title of Mrs. Missouri. The pageant is set for 7:30 p.m. at the Show Me Center.

Among contestants are Jean Ann Burk of Cape Girardeau, who holds the Mrs. Southeast Missouri title, Tonya Strong of Scott City and Tina Ivy of Jackson.

The 12 contestants range in age from 21 to 58. The contest begins Friday night with judges' interviews.

On Saturday, participants will compete in swimsuit, evening gown and a costume contest. The costumes are to depict the area of the state each candidate represents.

The winner will represent Missouri in the national pageant in Las Vegas in July.

Deborah McConnell is state director of the pageant and Melody Hutson, Mrs. Missouri 1991, is assistant state director.
