Last October Mrs. D moved from Bollinger County to Cape Girardeau to be with her daughter.
The move, however, became more expensive than she had thought, and now Mrs. D is having difficulty paying for medicine she needs to control diabetes and hypertension. She received a pacemaker last year and found out she had gall stones shortly thereafter.
Although her luck has not been the best lately, Mrs. D has never lost hope that eventually she will find a way to overcome her financial difficulties.
An active member of the church, Mrs. D made sure that she always had something nice to wear on Sundays. She makes most of her own clothes.
But she still needs help with expenses for items such as insulin syringes. Mrs. D, through Christmas for the Elderly, has indicated that John's and Medical Arts are her preferred pharmacies.
She could also use cotton panties, size 9. Mrs. D has included Serenity pads on her wish list. She has also listed snow boots, size 8 1/2, and canned goods. Mrs. D has included splash perfume and shampoo on her list.
Despite not being near her children, all of whom live outside of Cape Girardeau, Mrs. E is proud of the fact that she can live in a small apartment instead of a nursing home.
But she must contend with a number of physical ailments including poor eyesight, diabetes and arthritis. At times she suffers from anxiety and depression.
She likes to get out on occasion.
A few items that would pick her spirits up are perfume, powder and perhaps a gift certificate to a beauty shop in Cape Girardeau. She prefers Windsong perfume and powder.
