OLIVE BRANCH, Ill. -- Two Tamms, Ill., men were taken to Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau early Friday evening after they suffered major injuries in a motorcycle accident on Grapevine Trail near Olive Branch, Ill.

Illinois State Police said Raymond Brown, 19, was driving a motorcycle eastbound on the trail about .2 mile from the Olive Branch blacktop when the accident occurred at 5:05 p.m. Brown lost control of the motorcycle when passenger Saul I. Augila, 19, reached for some glasses, said the patrol.

The motorcycle went off the roadway and hit a guard rail.

Brown was flown to the hospital by air ambulance. Aguila was transported to the hospital by the Alexander County Ambulance Service. The hospital reported both in stable condition late Friday.

The driver was wearing a helmet, but he was charged by the state police with not having the proper motorcycle license.
