A 20-year-old motorcyclist was killed in Cape Girardeau County Wednesday afternoon when another vehicle pulled into his path, authorities said. The accident occurred at 2 p.m. about one mile north of Cape Girardeau city limits on Route W, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. Paul E. Stewart, of County Road 606 near Oriole, was pronounced dead at 2:30 p.m. at the scene, Cape Girardeau County Coroner John Clifton said. Stewart was riding a 1992 Suzuki motorcycle south on Route W when a westbound 2004 GMC van turned into his path, the patrol said. The 28-year-old driver of the van, from a commercial delivery company, was not injured. Clifton said that Stewart was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident and died from massive internal injuries. No autopsy will be conducted.
