The Missouri Mother's Association has announced its search for the 1992 Missouri Mother of the Year.
Candidates must be nominated by organizations; individuals may not make recommendations.
To be eligible, a mother must be 45 years of age, her youngest child must be 15 by January 1991, and she must be an active member of a church. She also must demonstrate good influence in her home, church and community.
Nominees will be judged by a jury composed of state and community leaders with emphasis on personal characteristics, influence in the community and her success as a mother and homemaker as evidenced in her children.
The mother selected as Missouri Mother of the Year will represent the state in the national competition in Los Angeles in April. The Missouri Mother and Merit Mothers will be honored at a banquet in Jefferson City in March.
Past area winners of the Missouri Mother of the Year award include Wendy Rust of Cape Girardeau.
Nomination forms are available by writing the State Search Committee, Nelle Moffitt Allen, Rt. 3, Box 184, Redford, Mo. 63665. The deadline for entries is Oct. 7.
