Morning crash knocks out power
Six homes are still without power after a truck struck a utility pole shortly after 3 a.m. near the intersection of West End Blvd and College Street. Six homes lost power after a truck struck a utility pole shortly after 3 a.m. Tuesday near the intersection of West End Blvd and College Street.
The driver, Benjamin M. Calvert of Cape Girardeau was issued a summons for driving while intoxicated and failing to drive on the right half of the road, according to Cape Girardeau police. He was not injured in the accident.

Power was restored about 12:20 p.m. Tuesday to affected residents, he said.
