SIKESTON, Mo. -- A Morehouse man was injured and taken into custody after allegedly brandishing a handgun outside a Sikeston bar early New Year's Day.
Steven Webb, 25, of Morehouse arrived at Cheers, 1212 Linn St., just after the bar closed, according to the incident report at the Sikeston Department of Public Safety. He reportedly was looking for a female who was not there, and no one knew.
According to witnesses, Webb, who was believed to be intoxicated, then became angry, walked to his truck and pulled out a silver handgun, brandishing it toward several subjects in the lot. Someone there grabbed the gun, punching Webb in the face. Officers later found the gun was loaded.
DPS officers were called out around 2:06 a.m., and when they arrived on the scene, there was a large group of people in the lot. When they attempted to detain Webb, he initially resisted arrest.
Once taken into custody, Webb was transported by ambulance to Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston where he was treated for a nose injury.
He was later taken to the Scott County Jail on charges of second degree property damage for harm to police equipment, resisting arrest and unlawful use of a weapon. Bond of $10,000 was posted on Thursday and Webb was released.
