National Weather Service forecasts say rain will likely begin moving into the area sometime today as a cold front pushes across Missouri and into the Ohio River Valley, bringing with it a slight chance of severe weather. Another system is expected to follow, entering the area late Thursday and into Friday and bringing with it the potential for even more rain than today's system. Forecasts indicate totals of more than an inch could fall on Southeast Missouri and rainfall totals could top 4 to 5 inches by the weekend.
